Anita’s Easy and Delicious Pomegranate Meatball
Juicy, sweet and tangy meatballs in a delicious Pomegranate juice reduction. An absolute party Food to enjoy!
Ingredients
1 pound of ground beef
1/2 pound of lean pork ground meat
1/2 onion, grated
2 tablespoons of flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
1/2 teaspoon cloves, ground
1/3 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup olive oil
Ingredients for the Pomegranate Sauce
4 tablespoons pomegranate molasse
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 Tablespoon of honey
1/2 teaspoon sumac spice
1 teaspoon of Balsamic Vinegar
2 teaspoon cornstarch
Preparation for the Meat Balls
- In a large bowl combine both meats, pork and beef with grated onion, egg, flour, and all spices. Make them into a small bite party size balls by using an ice cream scooper.
- Arrange them into a platter and place into the the fridge to firm up for about 20-25 minutes.
- Brown them in olive oil at medium heat on all sides till brown. Place them over towel paper.
- In the same pan add pomegranate molasse, honey, chicken stock, balsamic vinegar, sumac, corn starch diluted in 1 teaspoon of cool water for no lumps.
- Bring sauce to a boil, reduce heat and let it simmer until reduce for about 25 minutes. Incorporate meat balls. Let them simmer in sauce for about 10 minutes until becomes like a thick glaze.
