Anita’s Delicious Cheese Wrapped dough with simple pink Sauce

Spread the love

These are sponge, crispy, dough-wrapped around mozzarella and halloumi cheese. An irresistible appetizer or snack that will become one of your favorite at any party !

I have a different recipe posted before. While I was experimenting, I came out with this healthy version where these are baked instead of fried, also using a pre-made puff pastry dough resulting in a faster and easier way to make and enjoy.

Ingredients

1 lb. package of Puff Pastry

1pound Halloumi Cheese, cut into thick batons

1/2 pound Mozzarella cheese, cut into batons

1 egg, whisked

Pink Sauce: Whisk together Mayonnaise, Ketchup, diced pickle cucumbers, dash of hot sauce, salt and pepper.

Preparation

  1. Pre-heat oven to 395 grades Farenheit. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Cut the dough of puff pastry into a long length enough strip of 1 1/2 inches of thickness to be able to seal the ends.
  3. Wrap the two cheese sticks around the dough strips, pressing the ends fully.
  4. Place the cheese sticks on the baking sheet.
  5. For a golden finish, brush each one with the whisked egg.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until puffy and  light golden brown.
  7. Serve with Pink Sauce. Enjoy warm while last 🙂 and Share the Love!
